The last days of the Raj — Octopussy

There is no better way to illustrate the late Roger Moore period of James Bond than our hero calmly diffusing a nuclear bomb while wearing a clown suit.

The high stakes circus act that is Octopussy is a much loved, fondly remembered outing with some memorable action sequences and a stellar ensemble.

However it has its problems, specifically with its colonial attitudes and portrayal of South Asian characters. At least for some fans these are problems.

In this episode of the Oddjob Pod Terry, Graham and Gary discuss the penultimate episode of Roger Moore’s Bond canon, consider its failings and celebrate its victories.

There are some considerably less problematic elements to this film and we rejoice in the movie's absurdity and hi-jinks.
